Charles St Denys may have been the first Moxon Family Historian with his trilogy “A Simple Record of the Moxon Family” written in 1877. The first two books were The Moxon Family and The Browne Family and have both been transcribed into typescript. The third book – “Personal recollections” has been transcribed in manuscript and is quite difficult to read because the copyist has not transcribed footnotes in the most appropriate place; the handwriting gets very illegible in places; and someone has put it into a spiral bound format with the spiral going through some words!
Not a learned history, but just what it claims to be: a simple record of a family. We also include some relevant letters to and from John Moxon Hill.
